I Need Emotional Support?

Question by HOTROD: I need emotional support?
I am 17 years old, and recently I was supposed to see a Cognitive Behaviour Therapist because of my recent depression, but I ended up more depressed due to his event since I was wandering around the city for 2 hours trying to find it, and ended up missing the appointment since I could not find the hospital.

I feel disappointed in myself since I wasted doctor time, it took a long time to organise an appointment for myself, and now they say it’ll take about 2 months to reorganise another one. I foolishly missed out on a chance to drain my problems, since all the directions I consulted to find it, weren’t accurate.

I feel pretty down now, and I don’t know where to get proper advice from to deal with my emotional problems. As sometimes I discover that people on facebook have been undermining me behind my back, as they think I can’t see the comment. And this puts me down as it makes me think everyone is against me. I will be doing my A-Levels soon, and will be hoping to go to uni.

I am anxious that at uni, people won’t like me, I’m a friendly person, but some people seem to think I’m a bit “too much” for them, since I can get a bit hyper sometimes. But I’m just being myself there, at least I’m genuine and am my own person.

Please provide emotional advice for me, as I seem to be down at the minute.

Thank you.

It sounds like you have manic depression. I have it too, but i got help and take medication now. I feel so much better because of it. Find another doctor close to you. Even if it isn’t some specialized doctor. I went to a general practitioner and got a presciption from her. You also can’t see a doctor if you are under the age of 18. Talk to your parents, they should only want to help you.
