is talking about how we are the fattest nation in the world but Mcdonald’s commercials that infleunce are children are just fine. Hey food is a detrimental addiction like everything else and as far as putting a human body backwards and unhealthy just like alcoholism, why isn’t it consdiered a disease like every other addicition. It is more acceptable to be a drug addict than be fat. Is this true?
OMG, I see the mispells now, please don’t correct me, I wrote all that in 30 seconds.

Thank the “do-gooders” of the USA, who worry too much about effects of things like this on children. Give us a break. No it is no more acceptable to be addicted to drugs than food. People with real food addictions have a problem, yes. However, most Americans Do not have food addiction, they just overeat and enjoy junk food as it is cheap and readily available here. Commercials have nothing to do with it. In other countries they equate McDonalds a night out similar to how we treat Olive Garden. Plus in other countries, they have socialized medicine and better healthcare, and preventive medicine, something the poor and middle class do not have here. Plus when you go out to eat in France you do not receive huge portions like here, you receive proper serving size…..hence americans overeat; also no buffets……..Americans overeat and fast food is not the cause. They overeat everywhere and complain when they do not get enough for their money…..sad but true….

this is a real good topic you have here. i think there are way too many drug commercials out there as well as publications. and I also agree with you that there are too many food commercials aimed towards our kids that’s why we have the high obesity dilemma. I think if they want to keep the advertisements going to encourage people to eat the wrong things i think the government should force insurance companies to pay for fitness centers and dietitians. the insurance companies now only pay for those things is you have sugar diabetes. in fact the people are getting illnesses because of the overweight. go figure Washington!
